F.A.Q.S.

Porto Physio Center has no convention with any subsystem or health insurance.
However, most subsystems and health insurance provide their beneficiaries the refund of physiotherapy treatments performed outside the agreed network.
In the event that you are not a beneficiary of any subsystem or health insurance, the expenses incurred are deductible in the IRS.
Physiotherapy as a health expense, exempt from VAT, does not require a medical prescription and is automatically considered for the purposes of deducting the collection. The deduction from the collection corresponds to 15% of the value borne by any member of the household in health expenses (Art. 78-C of the Portuguese CIRS).
Please check with your insurer or subsystem for more information on the specific conditions for reimbursement of Physical Therapy treatments.
However, in most cases, it's only required a medical prescription, drawn up by your attending clinician, our invoices and respective receipts, accompanied by the report prepared by the attending physiotherapist.
Usually, each physiotherapy session lasts about 60 minutes.
Our physiotherapy service can be fully developed in the patient's home, either because of the inability to move, resulting from the pathology, or for convenience. In any case, all the necessary material is our responsibility. We guarantee a personalized service, with total respect for the intimacy of the patient and his relatives.
The Physiotherapist in the home of the patient will always take into account the specificity of the patient and site, promoting the optimization of all available resources, in order to minimize the impact of the injury or pathology and so that its recovery is as short as possible in the comfort of their home and family atmosphere. It is a service that adapts to the specific needs of each user.
Yes, your clinical file will be the responsibility of a physiotherapist who will be responsible for the evaluation and definition of the therapeutic plan and its implementation.
No. At Porto Physio Center each user has an exclusive chamber available.
This is because we believe that a recovery plan with the necessary privacy is a fundamental factor in the good reeducation and functional recovery of the user and it is our motto to promote the maximization of the care with indices of less effective time spent used in the recovery of the user.
Yes you can, no medical prescription is required to do physiotherapy.
The physiotherapist is an independent professional, who is directly involved in health promotion and disease prevention, being technically qualified regarding the evaluation, diagnosis, programming, execution, assessment and determination of discharge from physical therapy.
However, if you wish to request reimbursement from your subsystem or health insurance, a medical prescription will be required, with a date before the beginning of the treatment.
Usually postpartum recovery (vaginal delivery or cesarean delivery) starts at the 5th or 6th week after birth.
However if there is clinical indication of your obstetrician, it can start earlier.
